Bruno Furnari, a.k.a. Rigmarole, San Francisco
Candide's Notebooks/January 10, 2006
"When I was three or four years old," Bruno Furnari writes, "my dad gave me a Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60. It was a tiny seventies camera using that defunct 110 film format.
I think it took about a week for him to realize it was a bad idea, money wise. I was going through a lot of rolls, shooting randomly that 16mm like there was no tomorrow.
And it´s been like that ever since."
Lucky us. His work, an elegy to the power of color as subject and character, hesitates before nothing. Get ready to be stunned. Furnari is 27.
