George Bush’s visit to India in the next few days will be saturated with manufactured photo-ops in canned scenery. Here’s the antidote. Santosh Korthiwada is a 27-year-old from Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh in south-central India, the fifth largest metropolitan area in the country, and a jam of cultures. Korthiwada’s photographs, so full of affection for the faces of India, go well beyond his hoemtown’s borders, as when he honeymooned in Sikkim, in the country’s magnificent north, or when he skims the scenery of India’s Bengal shores. Korthiwada’s portraits radiate a kind of warmth that invites you to take optimism, in Korthiwada’s lens, for granted.

The Wall of Wisdom
almost 90% of the lake was frozen. the freezing water under the ice plates was making funny sounds. we first thought, there was some military shooting practice going on. The sacred lake freezes during the winters except at one spot, which the devout believe has been specially blessed. The blessed water of this lake is believed to posses the miraculous power of granting children to issueless couples. Interestingly, the myth of Gurudongma is believed as reverentially by the Hindus and by the local Buddhists. However, one has to be tough both by mentally and physically to reach Gurudongma Lake (alt. 17,500ft).
The Warangal Fort was a huge construction with three distinct circular strongholds surrounded by a moat. Four paths with decorative gateways, set according to the cardinal points, lead to the center where a huge Shiva Temple once existed. The gateway is still obviuous but much of the temple is in ruins.
Built by King Ganapathi in 13th century and completed by his daughter Rudrama, Warangal Fort showcases the pride and power of the famous Telugu dynasty, the Kakatiyas,in 1261 A.D.
